ABOUT THE SITE
The study area is Rambuda, which is comprised of 9 settlements aligned linearly and adjacent to one another. They are Rambuda-Thodoni, Thongwe, Madadani, Thsitopeni, Muledani, Matshavhawe, Tshibvumo, Tshapasha, and Pile. Some of these settlements lack any clear demarcation boundaries between them, but all are rural and of comparably poor socio-economic status. Five of the nine aforementioned settlements have been identified as the primary areas of study for the MAL-ED project in Limpopo, South Africa. Tshibvumo and Tshapasha hold the greatest number of people with Thongwe, Matshavhawe and Pile following respectively. Preparations are in place to maximally enroll up to 300 children for the project.
